Arsonist Jailed Indefinately

A serial arsonist who put the lives of his Cambridgeshire neighbours at risk has been jailed indefinitely for the public's protection.

Jason Brammer, 36, started a string of blazes between 2002 and 2010, Cambridge Crown Court heard. He admitted two arsons with intent to endanger life and will serve a minimum of three years. The court heard he provided information about 45 other fires.

Fire officers told the court Brammer regularly arrived at the scene of blazes to watch them being tackled. Brammer, who has been in custody for the last eight months, pleaded guilty to two offences of arson - one at Wellington Terrace, in Wisbech, on 18 February 2010 and another in Tindall Close, Wisbech on 5 July 2011. The judge passed an indeterminate sentence for public protection, branding Brammer "a pathological fire-setter" and a dangerous offender. "You pose a high risk of serious harm to past and present neighbours," he said.
